Initiated in the 50th between the Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire Carnot de Bourgogne (ICB, UMR 6303 CNRS, University of Bourgogne Europe and the AGH Faculty from Krakow, this seminar takes place alternatively in Poland and France. Through the years, some others partners have joined the initial founders and this year, this event is organized by the LaBoMaP from ENSAM, Campus de Cluny located inside the prestigious Abbey of Cluny from April 22th to April 24th. The 19th International French-Polish Conference on Reactivity of Solids explore the mechanisms and applications of corrosion, sintering, and metallurgical transformations. By examining both theoretical models and empirical data, the volume bridges the gap between surface chemistry and solid-state physics, shedding light on how microstructural evolution governs reactivity under diverse environmental and industrial conditions. Topics include oxidative degradation of metals, solid-state diffusion during sintering, and phase transformations critical to alloy development. Contributions from leading experts offer insights into kinetic models, thermodynamic stability, and material performance under thermal and mechanical stress. Intended for researchers, engineers, and materials scientists, the book underscores the pivotal role of solid reactivity in shaping modern technologies—from aerospace engineering to sustainable energy systems. It serves not only as a repository of advanced knowledge but also as a catalyst for innovation across the field of materials science.
